Fall is a vivacious and exciting time in Philadelphia and the surrounding region. There is a rhythm in the months of September, October, and November that beats quickly and has the area bustling with change. Fall also means it is time for the harvest and time to deck your porches, front stoops, and lawns with pumpkins. So, where do you go to get these beautiful orange gourds in and around Philadelphia? 1.     Maple Acres Farm (Plymouth Meeting, PA) This is a cute little farm along a windy road. This place knows how to take a few vegetables and make them aesthetically beautiful. The linear and perpendicular arrangement of the pumpkins and the smell of apple bread is enough to get anyone is an autumn mood.

2.     Linvilla Orchards (Media, PA) This place is nostalgic to many Delaware County families and it has certainly changed over the years. It used to be a small pumpkin patch with a country store that sold good apple pies and candied apples. They also have animals to feed and pet. Now, they have food stands more activities for children, and the lines for the pies have gotten longer. The parking lot is an adventure in itself but many families still fight the crowds to visit Linvilla for their pumpkins because it is tradition.

3.     Merrymead Farm (Lansdale, PA) If you are a bit further out from the city, visit this place for a classic hayride, a cornfield maze, and plenty of games and fun for children.

4.     Styer Orchard (Langhorne, PA) A Bucks County favorite, this orchard is a must visit in the Fall season. The corn maize, and pumpkin hunting are great activities for kids. This place also has a great selection of holiday decorations. From original stuffed pumpkins to vintage wooden signs, it is a great place to pick up your Halloween décor. This place also has great food with a fully stocked deli and a selection of hot sandwiches that you can sit and eat at a shaded picket bench outside.
