The Real Estate Around Philly social media team had a house guest in town from Minnesota this weekend. Out of town guests are a great chance for anyone to rediscover what makes the greater Philadelphia area a wonderful place to live.
When you have a guest in town you almost get to see the area through a fresh set of eyes. It is also a great excuse to indulge in some of Philadelphia’s more touristy things that you normally might not do.
We started out on Friday night exploring some of Delaware County’s eaters and night spots with some Philadelphia Flyers Fans.
The Philadelphia Art Museum Area
Saturday we took in a private tour at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was a welcomed reminder that this area houses some of the world’s best art. Like the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Facebook.
Being long-term area residents we have been by the Rocky Statue thousands of times, but have never actually stopped for a photo.
Northern Liberties Section
After getting some photos by the statue and letting our out of town guest do her version of the Rocky Steps Run, we decided to head to one of our favorite sections of the city Northern Liberties. We stopped at one of our favorite pubs/eaters the Abbaye
Abbaye (http://theabbaye.net/). If you have a chance to stop in there we highly recommend it. Must try Abbaye dishes including their vegan wings and the sweet potato fries. Like the Abbaye on Facebook.
We love a great dinner in Manayunk, so naturally headed down to Chabaaa> and enjoyed a variety of Pad Thai dishes. If you are heading to Chabaa remember that it is a BYOB so come prepared. Like Chabaa on Facebook.
Sunday morning we hit the Manayunk section again for brunch at Winnie’s Le Bus for a delicious meal.
We followed this up with some great shopping, hitting some of our favorite spots:

These stores and many more in the area make us glad for making the greater Philadelphia area our home.
