Our Real Estate Around Philly team loves living in Philadelphia. Some of us have thought about leaving, but there is so much about the area that we love that keeps us grounded here. Here are some of the things we love most.
1. The people
We know that the people of Philadelphia get a bad rap as being tough. But anyone living in this town will tell you that many neighborhoods are filled with caring individuals that look out for one another. Since moving to East Falls section this past summer, the smallest acts of kindness such as the neighbor putting away our trashcans always stand out.
2. The architecture
Philadelphia’s buildings have a great combination of old meets new. We love the row home look that covers much of the city. We decided to live in a 100 year-old row home that has been renovated. There are great unique homes available in every section of the city.
3. The history
Not many cities can beat Philadelphia in terms of the history. Center city and old city offer some great cultural experiences. Some of our favorites include, the Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, Independence Hall, Elfreth’s Alley, and more. Valley Forge and Washington’s Crossing are also close day trips.
4. The traditions
Philadelphia has some great yearly traditions. The Mummer’s Parade is one of the most unique events in the country. Each section of the city has it’s own unique days and events including Chestnut Hill’s Harry Potter event. They are all fun to explore.
